Psalm 103:5 – “The Lord satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.”
Enjoy this month by making a commitment to eat right—not only physically but spiritually as well. Years ago, the slogan "You Gotta Eat" was used by the Checkers and Rally's restaurant chains. While it was a clever marketing phrase, it also reflects a simple truth: we all need nourishment. We love to eat, and food is essential to life. Unfortunately, many of us enjoy eating more than we should, especially foods that provide temporary satisfaction but little lasting benefit.
Poor eating habits have contributed to an alarming rise in obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and other chronic illnesses throughout our nation. While medical science continues to develop new diets, exercise programs, and weight-loss strategies, the reality remains that good health usually begins with consistent, healthy choices. Eating nutritious foods and staying active can improve our energy, strengthen our bodies, sharpen our minds, and reduce our risk of disease.
Every year, millions of people purchase books about dieting, healthy eating, and fitness. New programs promise quick results, yet many people discover that simply reading about healthy living does not produce healthy living. Knowledge without application rarely changes our lives. A book sitting on a shelf cannot improve our health unless we put its principles into practice.
The same truth applies to our spiritual lives.

God certainly cares about our physical health. Our bodies are gifts from Him and are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). We should honor Him by taking good care of them. Yet our Heavenly Father places even greater importance on our spiritual health because our bodies are temporary, but our souls are eternal.
Just as our physical bodies require daily nourishment, our spirits require daily nourishment as well. We cannot expect to grow spiritually if we only feed on God's Word occasionally. Spiritual growth happens through consistent time with the Lord in prayer, worship, and the study of Scripture.
God has already provided everything we need for a healthy spiritual diet. His Word is filled with promises that strengthen us, encourage us, and remind us of His faithfulness.
When we face uncertainty, we are reminded:
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding" (Proverbs 3:5).
When we feel alone or afraid, we can confidently declare:
"The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want" (Psalm 23:1).
When life becomes difficult and opposition rises against us, we stand on His promise:
"No weapon formed against me shall prosper" (Isaiah 54:17).
These are not simply inspirational sayings. They are spiritual nourishment for weary hearts. They strengthen our faith, renew our hope, and remind us that God remains faithful in every season of life.
Psalm 103:5 tells us that God "satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's." What a beautiful picture of God's desire for His children. As we feast on His truth, He renews our strength, refreshes our perspective, and gives us the endurance to keep moving forward. We may grow older physically, but spiritually God continually renews us day by day.
Many people search for the newest bestseller hoping to find the secret to a healthier life. While those books may offer useful advice for the body, there is one book that has transformed lives for thousands of years—the Bible. It remains the all-time bestseller because it contains the living Word of God. Within its pages we find wisdom for every circumstance, comfort for every sorrow, guidance for every decision, and hope for every generation.
The Bible does far more than inform us—it transforms us. As we consistently read God's Word, the Holy Spirit shapes our character, deepens our faith, and draws us into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ. Over time, we begin to think differently, love more deeply, forgive more freely, and trust God more completely.
Developing a healthy spiritual diet does not require complicated formulas. Start with a few minutes each day reading Scripture. Meditate on a verse. Talk with God in prayer. Allow His Word to guide your decisions and shape your heart. Small, faithful steps taken every day produce lasting spiritual growth.
This month, challenge yourself to replace a few minutes of television, social media, or unnecessary distractions with time in God's presence. You may be surprised how much peace, joy, wisdom, and strength He provides when you consistently feast on His Word.
Remember, just as your body cannot thrive without daily food, your soul cannot thrive without daily time with God.
