It is so good to begin to see the changes in nature. Plants are growing, flowers are beginning to bloom. Birds are singing. And slowly the temperature is rising into the 70’s and 80’s and maybe even the 90’s. But this is the time of year when Spring is showing up.
As I look at the changes in seasons, I begin to think of us as creations of God. We were wearing winter clothes because it was in the 20’s and 30’s and there were times when it was in the teens. But now we are beginning to see the transition from winter clothes to spring clothes. And this is all good, if we are looking only at our bodies. But what about our Spiritual Growth; what about what is on the inside of us?
Seeds, Life, and Spiritual Growth

All of life has begun with a seed. Grass and trees have started as seeds. Our vegetation, that is, tomatoes, corn, string beans, and squash, all begin as seeds. We can even look at our lives. We didn’t enter this world as grown ups; but in a sense, we came from seeds. When the egg of the woman and the sperm of a man united, life began.
This reflection aligns with teachings found in the Bible,
where growth and new beginnings are central themes.
Small Acts of Love Matter
How are we showing the love of God? Some of us like to do it on a grand scale. But I believe the Lord honors small things. What can you do to add some sunshine and light to this world? What can you do to spread love, joy, peace and happiness?
I believe that somebody needs just a smile from you. Somebody needs just a word of encouragement from you. Somebody just needs to feel some love from you. If we could just do the little things, I believe that the Lord would be able to do the big things. Zechariah 4:10 declares, “who has despised the day of small things? For they shall rejoice……”

Make a Difference Daily
So instead of trying to conquer the world, why not make a difference in the lives of those we interact with, sometimes on a daily basis. When we go to work, when we go home with family, at social events or other group gatherings, why not make a difference in the lives of those we meet?
Christian teachings on love and community are also widely discussed by Focus on the Family: https://www.focusonthefamily.com/

In Closing
If you want to start this spring off in a positive way, be a positive influence on somebody’s life. But first why don’t you allow our Lord to make a positive impact and influence within your soul?
For the scriptures declare, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind and soul and secondly, love your neighbor as yourself”.
I wish a Happy Springtime to all of you. May God’s blessings be upon you, we pray. Amen.
